The one key here is to be sure you know whom you’re dealing with as some companies are less than honest about their outdrives. I have seen companies claim they hand rebuilt and re-manufactured, however it is likely just a sales tactic. It is unlikely they would replace all the parts with brand new ones as those parts exceeded what they were charging. So if it sounds too good to be true, it likely is. I have also seen the big boys like West Marine and Crowley delivered there drives in piece meaning the upper and lower were not already assembled.
